Evaporation

MS:
Evaporation is when the sun heats the water and it turns into an invisible gas called water vapor that floats into the air and becomes a cloud. When the cloud gets too full the water vapor falls as rain into lakes, rivers, streams, oceans, etc., and the process starts all over again. This is called evaporation.

We did an experiment to show this (see pictures). We put bowls in drafty places, sunny places, and shady places. The result was that the one in the sunny place evaporated the fastest, the drafty one the next fastest, and the shady one the slowest.
